Retirement Visas

For more than one year, Rami Formality Services has been appointed by the Tourism Department and the Directorate General of Immigration to sponsor and process retirement visas in warm and sunny Indonesia.


The retirement visas requirements are:

  • Must be at least 55 years old
  • Copy of all passport pages
  • The passport should be valid for at least 18 months from the date of application
  • Eight (8) 3x4 cm red background photos
  • Twelve (12) 6x4 cm red background photos
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • A copy of marriage certificate if married
  • A copy of a savings account statement from your bank (if any)
  • A copy of health & life insurance policy
  • A copy of third party liability insurance policy
  • A statement of intent to employ Indonesian maids and/or driver during his/her retirement in Indonesia
  • A statement letter from the pension plan institution or bank that the pension income is US$1500/month or more
  • A statement letter of financial ability to rent an accommodation at minimum US$500 per month in Jakarta areas, or minimum US$300 per month outside Jakarta areas or own a house under his wife's name if she is Indonesian

A retirement KITAS can be extended five times without having to leave the country. Each extension is valid for one year. A retirement KITAS holder will receive complete permits in a well organized folder comprising the following documents:

  • A retirement visa telex approval in the case of a new KITAS
  • A retirement KITAS card & Blue Book/Foreigner registration
  • SKPPS & SKTT (A certificate of registration of temporary residency)
  • STM/Resort police report
  • SKLD/Police card

MERP (Mutliple Exit Re-entry Permit)
It is valid for 5-6 months. This permit is necessary for KITAS holder who plan to go in and out of the country during their retirement.


Retirees from the following countries of origin can apply for an Indonesian retirement visa:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxemburg, Malaysia, Netherlander, New-Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand,United Kingdom, USA


Evidently, retirees will not be allowed to conduct any type of business while holding a retirement visa.
